Hold up. Each grey path is an exponentially weighted moving average tracking the position of the rider's head. There are 50ish grey paths corresponding to alpha values between 0.01 and 0.5. In some sense, each grey path represents a "smoothed" path of the rider. Google it if you're curious. Cheers!
