Tapinoma melanocephalum (commonly "ghost ant") is a species of ant recognized by their dark head and pale or translucent legs and gaster. Their coloring makes them seem smaller than they are (1.3 to 1.5mm long). They are a common pest in the United States, particularly in Hawaii and Florida.
